ENGINE

The 2.0 liter CRDi engine of Tucson is for those who want the best of everything. The performance, strength and frugality of a diesel motor together with quietness & smoothness of petrol is a reality , thanks to the uniformly maintained high pressure in common rail of the 2.0L CRDi engine.The power and torque are amazing at 112 Ps & 25 kgm at as low as 2000 rpm.

 


Transmission

The 5 speed transmission of Tucson demonstrates a smooth & dynamic performance and is high on durability & convenient on maintenance.

 

 

 
 

Electronic 4-WD system

  The electronic 4-WD system of Tucson runs the car in front wheel drive ( 2 WD ) during regular driving but when the driving condition changes, there is an automatic delegation of upto 50% of power to the rear wheels
  Compared with the mechanical 4-WD system , this system has superior fuel efficiency , conversion to 4 WD only if necessary & excellent response to off road driving performance due to variably controlled power distribution by ECU.
 



4 WD Lock mode

 

  At position 1 the car is running under normal condition & 4 WD system maintains the balance between the most ideal power performance and efficiency to realize the cars maximum traction
  At position 2, While cornering the center of gravity of car starts shifting, which affects traction.At this point the system automatically disperses the power to each wheel to maintain the optimal grip.
 

At position 3, the front wheels are in slippery situation during acceleration , the system detects this situation , putting more power in the rear wheels to achieve stable traction.

  Pressing the 4-WD lock button on the tough terrain , the driving power is equally distributed to the front & rear wheel.
  The 4 WD lock keeps engaged till the time the vehicle does not exceed 40 kmph speed. Removal of the lock is demanded when driving under normal conditions.

FRONT SUSPENSION :

The front McPherson Strut Suspension and the Multi Link Rear Suspension ensure when in Tucson, you are oblivious of the bumps and pot holes. The suspension also improves the stability of the car. There are a whole lot of design innovations like the stab bar mounted on the strut that enhances the ride comfort.
Pneumatic assisted hydraulic double acting shock Absorbers is another unique feature which smoothens every jerk so that you glide along the road.

N.V.H ( Noise , Vibration , Harshness )

IMPROVED WIND NOISE

To keep the Noise, vibration & Harshness levels low & out of cabin, Multicurvatures have been added to crucial positions of the body floor apart from the Sound proofing material at multiple locations in the body that minimizes the noise , Strengthened and Triple layer sealed door frame blocks wind noise further.

Similar design innovations like application of multi-curvature shapes to various spots on body floor instead of the insulator helped in absorbing & counter balancing the vibrations arising from the floor panel.
